Mandira Bedi will now dance on silver screen

After all her anchoring and acting conspiracies, be it on the small screen or at the commentary boxes, Mandira Bedi is game to try her hand at dancing now. Though she has never been a part of a reality dance show as a contestant, and calls herself a bad dancer, but the cricket freak is expecting that her fans are going to like her performance which is a dancing act to be performed for an Independence day show to be aired on Star plus.

Though this would not be the first time her fans are going to witness her shake her booty as she was seen dancing in the 1995 super blockbuster Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge on the beats of Mehendi Laga ke Rakhna song along with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

An all excited Mandira, when enquired about her interest in doing an item number replied the clichéd that if a big banner and a good project comes her way, she would surely be game for it.

As her last Bollywood release, Dus Kahaniyan did not do wonders for her at the Box Office; Mandira has high expectations with her upcoming, cricket oriented movie titled “Meera Bai Not Out” by Pritish Nandy where Anil Kumble does a small stint too.

Coming what she is best at, Mandira has just replaced Ravi Kishen as an anchor in the show, “Ek Se Badhkar Ek” being aired on Zee TV and shuns off the idea of being part of the long and stretched soaps being made these days but still owes everything to a similar show, Shanti which was her launchpad, though for her, it was some show which was not unrealistic and unstretched like today’s soaps.

Chandni Chowk to China

Akshay Kumar sure is on a high these days to have reached the slot of highest paid and the most worthy considered actors among the fraternity. And considering the different and mind boggling money paying projects coming his way, he is on cloud nine.

Another different and new project in his kitty is the movie titled Chandni Chowk to China which is supposedly the first Indian movie over the topic of Kungfu. It is heard that the movie is a die hard comedy full of thrill, action, adventure, and scenic beauty which is an eye candy for the viewers. The name itself suggests that the entire flick is being shot over varied places of Chandni Chowk in Delhi to rich and beautiful landscapes of the Great wall country.

The story revolves around Akshay Kumar, names Sidhu, who is a roadside food stall owner dreaming to make big in life and get rich from rags suddenly without making much efforts for which he does everything from tarot reading to going to fakir forecast tellers completely avoiding, Mithun Chakraborthy, his father figures’ advice of believing in himself and doing things on his own to make his mark. Then one fine day, he meets these two Chinese travelers, who claim Sidhu to be a reincarnated warrior of China, who they want to take along with him. Unaware of the fact that the travelers weren’t actually taking him to worship him, but to hand him over to Hojo, the villain who was in search for the ex warrior, he keeps dreaming of the comforts he is going to live in. And the story continues where the actual Kungfu enters when he gets to know the fact and to save the village he learns Kungfu. Deepika Padukone plays his love interest in the movie.

Katrina stands pretty in sarees

With Katrina’s much awaited movie in the verge of being Released, the Singh is Kingg heroine is busy giving interviews about evry slightest of the details she can of the upcoming flick. Be it the publicity stints or ways to attract the audiences, the public is sure getting news everyday from the lady.

It is being claimed that the usually seen in western outfits girl has shot one complete song wearing saris for the movie to be released. She announces in an elated tone that she has fallen in love with the attire and that it is the dress that makes one feel so womanish. Describing the need of the script, she explains that the director was clear that he wanted her to dress in an Indian outfit for the song, Dil Kho Gaya, and says that what better option they could think of.

It is for the first time that Manish Malhotra has designed apparels for her, and her satisfaction and elation over the fact that the designs have been beautiful is audible in her chirpy voice. Apparently, it is also heard, that the famous song of the Karan Johar movie Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, titled suraj hua madham, was shot in the same locales where this song has been shot, and surprisingly, it was Manish only who had designed the saris for Kajol that she flaunted in the song.

Vivek Oberoi was looking Dashing in a pathetic role, Zayed Khan sucks by his odinary acting skill, Bakwaas picture, time waste, Ekta Kapoor production made it a Balaji production where in Istanbul Scorpio and modified Wagon-R was running. No doubt few shots were from Istanbul but rest of them were from India. And very third class so called villain in the movie. That beard guy who comes in the Balaji Serials sucks badly, it seems me he never takes the bath in his whole life. Role of Shreya Saran was very limited and very third class songs.

Moral of the Story: Ekta Kapoor dont try to produce any movie.

The Three Idiots to be on floor soon

Chetan Bhagat, The IIT IIM-A alumni who stormed the Indian novel markets with his bestseller “Five Point Someone”, a story of three guys and their faux pas at their IIT graduation time, had sure cashed in hell lot of money, and not to forget the sudden fame to which the famous director Rajkumar Hirani had planned of gaining a little profit in his stride through this magnetic book’s story by making a film on it. The day, the concept of making a film over the topic had been finalized, there was a lot of gossip over the cast and crew and every possible information that could have been gathered. And now the Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Boman Irani starrer,named “The three Idiots” is supposedly going to hit the floors very soon. The cast and the crew reveals that it is a very simple and light entertainer, usual to what Raju is famous for.

The first shot teaser though does not contain any kind of look or peek-a-boo of the stars and is just to give a brief intro and feel of the entertainment packet being made.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, being the producer is all excited for the shoots and it has been revealed that majority of the shoots are scheduled in Ladakh, Delhi, Bangalore and New Delhi.


We sure hope, this ones a good treat considering a cold box office review being seen these days

The magic of Egypt in Singhh is Kingg

In any case, do you remember the Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham song, Sooraj hua Madham, shot over Shah Rukh and the beautiful Kajol?? Well if you do, you sure would be remembering the backdrop scenic beauty of Egypt portrayed beautifully by director Karan Johar. Yup, History does repeat itself but , the news is not about SRK, or Kajol nd not even about Karan. Its Egypt and its beauty being captured in the camera in the soon to be released Singhh is Kingg where Akshay Kumar is seen romancing Katrina Kaif in a song sung by Lubh Jhanjua and Suzie Q titled “Jee Karda” which has already become a hit since the time its promos hit the television.

Another track of the same flick, titled Teri Orr voiced by Shreya Ghoshal, a soft romantic number also on air recently, has been shot at mesmerizing places in Egypt. Director Vipul Shah denies the misconceptions that Egypt was chosen just to add to the glam factor but reveals that Akshays character in the movie had to move from India to Egypt to Australia and proudly announces that some of the best scenes of the movie have been shot in the magnificent city where there was a fifteen days long shoot scheduled. Shah claims that he has shot at some of the places in Egypt that have never been shown on the celluloid.

Brett Lee in Victory with Harman Baweja

Australian ace cricketer Brett Lee is spending more time in India than in Australia now. After shooting a music video with legendary singer Asha Bhonsle, he is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the new shining star Harman Baweja who is also playing a cricketer in ‘Victory’.

Speaking about venturing into films, Brett Lee remarks, "A few years ago, choosing the right film would not have been easy as the atmosphere wasn’t conducive. Now, times have changed." In Victory, he is playing himself i.e. a professional cricketer and along with him his Aussie teammates Brad Hogg, Stuart Clarke and Mike Hussey will be seen playing some wonderful innings. A handful of Indian cricketers like Yusuf Pathan, RP Singh and Pravin Kumar will act alongside with Harman.

Lee shares his experience on working with Harman in the following words, "It was a lot of fun. We helped each other out throughout the movie. I taught him a few shots while he gave him me acting tips."

Sanjay Dutt is all set to play a gangster in Once Upon A Time in Mumbai produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji and Sunil Shetty’s Popcorn Entertainment. It is completely based on the ultimate comprehensive look-see at Mumbai’s underworld. And who better equipped to star in it better than Sanjay Dutt who is the supremo in acting the underworld dons. Sanjay Dutt has played the gangster in over 15-20 films including the funny ones in David Dhavan’s Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi, and Raju Hirani’s Munnabhai. Suniel Shetty and Ekta Kapoor in this gangster flicked will take Dutt and his director Milan Luthria through a whole decade of gangsterism in the 1980’s.

Popcorn Entertainment Producer Suniel Shetty talks about Sanjay Dutt and his upcoming film, “Initially Ekta and I wanted to focus on one aspect of crime and smuggling in the 1980’s, but now we’re taking into account the whole era and ethos leading up to terrorism and international terrorism in current times. Whereas Baba (Sanjay) is concerned, he is the sole actor that suits the role and both of us wanted him in the film. He’s also starring in our next film Gen Next.”

Abhishek Bachchan’s another high budget and much talked about movie Drona is rescheduled to be released. It was supposed to have a clash with the Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika starrer Bachna Ae Haseeno. As this is a high budget moive with lot of expections attached to, it has been rescheduled on 22nd august. Abhishek might get a good response for this movie.

Abhishek bachan has been a calm and go-lucky guy. But at the sets of shooting of Drona movie it was a shocker to all. He slapped a spot boy on the sets because of some silly mistakes by the spot boy. He forgot to switch on the fan. It was unusual stuff from such a goog actor like abhishek Bachan. The mental trauma was so untolerable that the spot boy could not control himself for crying for hours together and resigned from the job. Abhishek didn’t even try to pacify the boy. How calm Abhishek is really!
