Ishmeet Singh Sodhi - Sad demise of a rising star

The judges, audiences and the anchors of Voice of India were in awe of this young singer’s voice last year, where Ishmeet Singh Sodhi, the nineteen year old from Ludhiana, was the most predictable winner. Tuesday came as a day of great shock for the music industry and the country as the news of this exuberant singer’s drowning in the Maldives spread like wild fire. While many people shunned it as a rumor, others were in a state of shock and had nothing to say.

Ishmeet had left for Maldives on Tuesday for a show with a couple of other upcoming singers and checked in the Dhonveli Beach Resort where he and three of his other companions- Vyom, Arunima and Sumitra Iyer headed towards the pool of the resort to chill out. The incident took place around 5:15 pm which is supposedly an off time for the life guards.

Various stories are cropping up, where some suppose that Ishmeet knew how to swim but died due to a head injury while diving into the pool whereas others say the even when he was aware of his incapability to swim, he went to the deeper end of the pool and could not handle himself.

Whatever be the reason, it is surely one of the greatest loses for the country to have lost such a pure hearted artist and we pray that his soul may REST IN PEACE!!!
