Completely Rock On !!!! today released movie is Rock On, debut of Dil Chahta Hai fame director Farhan Akhtar and tv serial actress Prachi Desai. Rock On is based upon the youth genre and their relationship and friendship. Director Abhishek Kapoor has successfully given a better treatment of the film. he used the young talent skillfully and makes a entertaining movie with human sentiments. Young generation likes such movies as we saw that ppl like the last movie on youth Jaane tu yaa Janne naa.
Rock On is the story about four freinds(Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny) who want to put thogether the best band India has ever seen but fails to make it and years later they all come together and try to fulfill their dreams again. Music is very good and Shankar Ehsaan Loy again produce good music which will be top on the chart in coming weeks.
Arjun Rampal shows he is enough experienced to work with other naive. Perhaps his best performance since his debut. Prachi Desai was good and she has proved that she is able to work in big screen as well. She played the role of Frahan Akhtar's wife and I like her role in the movie.
Purab Kohli was also good in the movie and got enough coverage unlike his past movies. Luke Kenny is the new name to bollywood and I like him the way he worked in the Rock On. Shahana Goswami is a talented gal and her performance was one of the most challenging for any newcomer and she showed enough confidence.

Rarely does Bollywood produce a gem at the level of this movie. Instead of the usual colorful adn juvenile Bollywood fantasies and absurd nonsensical comedies, this movie is actually a grown up movie about human characters. How refreshing can that get. Superb acting, characters, story and cinematography make this movie one that should be watched by everyone. Please go support this movie.
I am typical rock loving bollywood hating guy, but I must admit this movie has been revelation.
Not only is the theme close to heart of rock fanatics like me but the performances from all actors puts other established over the top acting kind bollywood kings to shame.
I could connect with the movie immediately as precisely 10 years ago I used to part of rock group and although it was nothing like "best in india" but we did have our fun. The first thing that I did after coming out of the movie theatre was to write to groupies to meet up and jam (what else!!!)
The movie songs have touch of videos of 80s and 90s...guns n roses, U2, aerosmith, def leppard and bon jovi.
And I agree with most of the other writers that Arjun Rampal has given a superlative performance. One could sense lingering frustration with life he was leading in every scene of his.
I would highly recommend this movie to everyone. And if you were anyway related with a rock band then it might be akin to watching your dream on screen....cheers
