My Name Is Khan

The film re-unites the super-hit jodi of SRK and Kajol after a hiatus of nearly 7 years (they were last seen in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001)
The film is based on a real life story where the protagonist, Rizwan Khan is suffering from a rare disease called Asperger’s Disease which causes physical clumsiness and atypical use of language. The film is set in the city of New York.
Jimmy Shiergill plays Shahrukh’s brother in the movie. Kajol plays the love interest of Shahrukh for the film.

Karan Johar, through this movie, wants to convey a strong message of humanity, especially about the treatment meted out to people suffering from this rare disorder. Through his character, ShahRukh Khan undergoes a transformation in his outlook about life and the whole world, while he is being held captive by some miscreants for a few weeks. The film will also try to show that if given right counselling to such people, they would be able to easily adjust with the society like any other normal citizen.

In Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani Ranbir plays the melancholy lover-boy hopelessly in love with the idea of being in love. The character was immortalized by Raj Kapoor in Mera Naam Joker and before him, Chaplin in City Lights. Ranbir in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani plays Prem a true inheritor of the two imperishable heroes from the past. He is an innocent guy with a heart of gold. There will be distinct elements of Charlie Chaplin and Raj kapoor , but not too much though.

Katrina Kaif plays a character that closely resembles what she is in real life. A little lost, a little out of it. Credulous, artless and trusting, a girl who believes in the goodness of all things. The film requires her to be young and trendy. Apparently She was excited to do this role working with Ranbir kapoor since this would be the first time that she would be paired with someone closer to her own age.

Barah Aana hindi movie

Barah Aana is a comedy of real life, set in today's Mumbai. The story revolves around three unlikely friends: a driver (Naseeruddin Shah), a watchman (Vijay Raaz), and a waiter (Arjun Mathur). The driver is an older man, stoic but dependable. The watchman, in his 30s, is a pushover at work but otherwise mischievous. The waiter is a young, swaggering chap, brimming with ambition. Living together, their different attitudes make for interesting banter.

At some point, misfortune befalls the watchman and, due to a series of chance events, he stumbles into a crime. Striking upon a seemingly low-risk way to make good money, and discovering a new sense of self-confidence, he tries to entice the others to join him in a series of such crimes. Cat and mouse games ensue between the three as personalities change, but events soon spiral out of control, leading them in a direction none of them had wanted to take. Featuring a talented ensemble cast, Barah Aana is based on an original script. The running time is 97 minutes.

Ek - the power of one hindi movie

This film is the Hindi remake of superhit Telugu film ATAHDU. Nandu (Bobby Deol) is an assassin by profession. Somehow he gets wrongly accused of a politician's murder.Whilst on the run from the police, he boards a train where he meets Shehar (Chunky Pandey).

Shehar is returning home for the first time after 14 years. As they converse, Nandu gets to know all about his joint family and the imminent wedding of Shehar's cousin. This is the main reason he is going home for. The twist comes when the police catches up with Nandu on the train. In the shootout that follows, Shehar accidentally dies.Deeply shocked by the incident, Nandu goes to Shehar's family home to return his belongings to his grandfather and also break the news of his grandson's death.

But when Nandu arrives at Shehar's family home, he is mistaken for Shehar himself. With no time to explain what had happened, the family members get him involved with the wedding preparations and celebrations.

Preet (Shreya Saran), the daughter of a family friend becomes fascinated by Nandu. In no time she falls in love with him. Meanwhile, police inspector Rane (Nana Patekar), is given the responsibility of tracking down the killer and he is close on Nandu's trail.Nana Patekar it is learnt from reliable sources, especially learnt to speak like a typical Punjabi while he was shooting in Chandigarh. Will Nandu be able to come out of the crisis unscathed? Will the family come to know about his real identity? What would be the fate of Nandu and Preet's love story? Blue hindi movie

Blue which is supposed to be India’s first ‘official’ underwater film is a thriller story involving crucial scenes by the lead actors Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar (who plays a fisherman based in the Bahamas) beneath sea water.

Lara Dutta plays the character of a glamorous beach babe and is paired opposite to Sanjay Dutt in the movie.The international technician crew consisting of Nickolette Skarlatos and Clarabelle Saldanha (who worked on Megan Fox in the Hollywood film ‘Transformers’ ) compared Lara’s look very similar to Megan Fox. Katrina Kaif was initially taken in to do just an item song , but the producers later on extended her role as they felt that an Akshay-Katrina starrer would again prove to be a lucky pairing at the box office.

The film is being made on a lavish scale of a 100-150 crores. The producers are leaving no stone unturned to make this movie have an ‘International’ feel, and have roped in many Hollywood top notch technicians, along with the Australian sensational singer Kylie Minogue, who will be seen in two of the most hype about songs of the movie, choreographed by Farah Khan.

Gulal Gulaal hindi movie

After making films like No Smoking and Dev D Anurag Kashyap’s all set with Gulal. It is a love story set against a certain backdrop. It is believed he scripted Gulaal when he was angry and upset with everything around him.

According to a close pal of Anurag, making Gulaal was very close to his heart as he was in the most terrible time. He was highly influenced by Sahir Ludhianvi’s songs from Pyaasa, especially ‘Yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaaye to kya hai’. Gulal is a tribute by Anurag to all those poets who wrote such aspiring, inspirational poems.

Though it is his most angry film, Anurag has done extensive research on the history of Rajputs and their stories of the formation of Republic India. Anurag spent a lot of time with the royals of Jaipur and read history from Sharda Dwivedi to Romila Thapar, he also read the Patiala Report and then scripted Gulal.

Kay Kay Menon plays a grassroots political leader. The film is 80 percent complete and the last schedule will be for 15 days at Jaipur beginning June7.

Rang Rasiya ('Colours of Passion' in English)

Based on legendary painter Raja Ravi Varma's life, the movie which is based on Marathi author Ranjit Desai's novel, is a sensuous love story of the great painter and his muse, a woman called Sugandhabai.

Randeep Hooda who plays the role of Ravi Varma, is said to have required a lot of intensity and concentration as it was difficult to essay the enigmatic character of Raja Ravi Verma, a flamboyant pioneering painter who was a visionary, apart from being a great admirer of the female form.

Nandana Sen, plays the sensuous muse of the painter. Her character is sensual yet innocent and is hungry for love. She is playful, very romantic, strong-headed and brave. She was a legend in her own right, because she was a trend setter and a fashion icon for everyone at that time.

The whole world used to tell her that she was beautiful but she never believed them till she met this great painter who changed her life. She was harassed after he painted her as a goddess but she was brave enough to face the wrath.

Mehta's bilingual "Rang Rasiya" is courting controversy for the number of sensuous scenes it has. But it is also that it had taken him on and off six years to do the research that included reading all literature associated with that era and he also had to travel a lot to see the actual paintings.

It has been shot extensively in different locations in India and also at a huge set in Karjat near Mumbai.

The movie will hit the theatres March 27 2009.

Aditya Chopra’s film ‘New York’ is being directed by Kabir Khan, of ‘Kabul Express’ fame and the storyline is hugely inspired by a film ‘Arlington Road’ made in 1999.Its a tale of friendship and terrorism.

John Abraham and Katrina Kaif who play the leading roles in the film have decided to bury the hatchet and co operate on the sets for the betterment of the film
The story of the film has two main protagonists who run into each other without knowing that one of them is a terrorist. This negative character of the terrorist is being played by Neil Nitin Mukesh .

From reliable sources it is believed that Neil Nitin Mukesh had injured himself while running on the treadmill in preparation for a chase sequence. He wanted it to look authentic, and ran a lot faster than he should have and ultimately had a torn ligament, so instead of doing the chase sequence in sports shoes he had to wear his boots.

Another interesting bit about the film is about John Abraham and how he was denuded for a prison sequence .Since it is set in the US prison, the director wanted to show exactly how they break your spirit in an American prison when they want you to confess to being a terrorist. Although john agreed to be completely stripped off his clothes for the shot, he was quite traumatised by the end of it.
Most of the shooting took place in Philadelphia, and is apparently still under production.

Kites hindi movies

Kites is being touted as featuring Hrithik's most sensuous role till date. He stars opposite US-based Spanish model Barbara Mori.

The film is about an Indian boy's romantic affair with a Latina girl and their predicament as they do not understand each other's language. The film is about love transcending cultural and language barriers.

In the movie, Barabar Mori's character speaks only Spanish and Hrithik, a salsa teacher can't speak a word of Spanish. So he speaks to her in Hindi and yet the two communicate and fall madly in love. But then something happens that forces the two to split and that's where Kangana steps in, and there is a love triangle between them. Towards the end there is a thriller twist to the story.

The bases for the story is on an American dance competition where both Hrithik and Kangna are Americans of Indian descent.

Kangana's role is not bigger than that of Barbara's. Kangana plays a very rich girl and is also Hrithik's dance student.

The story is set mostly in New Mexico, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
In spite of all talks about steamy scenes in the movie,it is not about sex but an intensely romantic film.

Kites will be completed in January 2009

Kaminey is the story of identical twins. Both want to make big in their life and so in the race of life, Charlie goes on the negative side. He meets Sunil Bhope, who is a shrewd politician and Priyanka Chopra’s (Sweety) brother, who misuses Charlie and over course of time he becomes a bad man.

Kaminey is quite an interesting film as its socio-political drama, in which Amol Gupte is debuting as main negative character.
Vishal has really done a splendid role in his screenplay as for the first time it’s his original screenplay and not adapted by any Shakespeare novels

In the midst of central London, a successful Indian restaurant called ‘Gaylord’ is run by a Londoner of Indian origin called Pinu.

A simple soul at heart, Pinu has many complexes – a special one being that he is a virgin and has experienced no intimacy with a woman.

To top that, his biggest fear is to be laughed at by people… an ever-repeating phenomenon with him.

Pinu is quite an introvert and has no real friends…the closest he has ever gotten to a friendship is with his foster brother rajat, who is quite a contrast to his own personality –A casual air about him, he is the lead singer of a rock band.

Rajat is very fond of pinu, though is often a source of annoyance to him as he finds pinu really funny.

One day, a young Indian fellow called Kamlesh comes to his restaurant and asks for a job as a stand-up comedian. Quite thrown off, Pinu initially refuses but finally lets him join as a cook, who also does a stand-up act in the evenings.

On the same day, he hires a new cashier - Renu, a young art student from India, who has a passion for caricatures.

Life changes dramatically for Pinu as Gaylord begins to transform… Renu works on the look of the place, makes cheerful caricatures for customers while Kamlesh is a fabulous cook with a great talent for making people laugh in his acts and soon the restaurant is more happening and the business is much better.

But the greatest difference they bring to his life is friendship. There is a visible difference in Pinu’s personality now as he lets himself hang out a bit with them.

One fine day, Pinu is thrown in to a daze as he walks away from the restaurant …he has discovered a totally new fear – he might be Gay!!
Pinu seeks refuge in Rajat’s advice which is quite simply – screw a woman!

On a mission now, Pinu goes on a rampage seeking available women. However, it leads to him suffering another string of tragicomic situations, ending up feeling humiliated…and laughed at!

Not many are aware that DHOONDTE REH JAOGE was to be produced by Sanjay Khan's daughter Farah Khan initially, with ad film-maker Prahlad Kakkar making his directorial debut. Also, the movie was initially called FLOP .Umesh Shukla, director of DHOONDTE REH JAOGE was, merely the writer of the film then. However, things didn't work out for some reason and Umesh, who was so charged with the script, decided to direct it himself. UTV decided to produce the film eventually
Dhoondte Reh Jaoge, It's a true story which shows the process of how bad films get made in Bollywood DHOONDTE REH JAOGE is a spoof on the film industry. There's a producer (Paresh Rawal), writer plus actor (Johny Lever), superstar going through a rough patch (Sonu Sood), aspiring actress (Soha Ali Khan) and director (Kunal Khemu)

Dhoondte Reh Jaoge is basically meant to be an out and out comedy, of two very different people, who come from absolutely contrasting backgrounds as well. It also portrays the process of how bad films get made in the Bollywood film industry.

Paresh plays this producer who is keen to make a flop film. His film is called 'Sholay Se Lagaan Tak .while Kunal Khemu plays this director called Anand Pawar, who is middle class guy ,and is honest to the core. It is this same honesty that has already cost him five different jobs and now due to the mounting pressure, he is forced to find a way to pay the rent for the chawl room where is he living.

The story is about how thanks to destiny and circumstances, they are forced to become partners and work together to make a film. So the bottom line is how these two varied individuals get together during a crisis situation to devise a solution.
Paresh Rawal, as Raj Chopra, the producer wants to make the film with Sonu Sood , a Superstar named Aryan Kapoor who is very choosy about the kind of roles he does. He finally agrees to work with this producer who has been after him for a while. But when all is not hunky-dory he leaves the project mid-way.. However the producer instead of shelving the film goes ahead and completes the film with the Superstar's look-alikes (also played by Sonu Sood) which leads to hilarious situations. Sonu will be seen in as many as eleven different roles in the film.

In one scene he plays Amitabh Bachchan of Deewar, in another scene he plays Dharam paaji of Sholay,. In one shot he plays Shah Rukh of DDLJ, and then there is also a scene where he plays Sunny of Gadar and finally a shot in which he plays Aamir from Lagaan. So you will see Sonu Sood in these various get-ups. Playing each of these characters was both interesting and challenging for the actor. One of the get-ups that Sonu sood has had to play was a dwarf which was not easy as he had to fold his legs and walk and even maintain a different body-language.

There are bound to be some funny incidents during the shoot of such a funny film, one of such funny incidents was when Soha Ali Khan and Sonu Sood Soha were shooting for a romantic number in the middle of the water in Malaysia, and Soha Ali Khan was wearing chappals in the water, suddenly her chappals came off and were floating in the middle of the water. The whole unit couldn't control their laughter on seeing the chappals in the frame.

Incidentally, Zayed Khan was signed to enact the role that Sonu Sood has eventually portrayed in the film, but Zayed opted out because in the ad issued by UTV in the trade mags, Kunal Khemu's name figured over Zayed's, even after UTV apologised for the mistake Zayed Khan refused to do the film.

The film is slated to be released nationwide on March 6th 2009.
